Early Head Start Applications: New Funding Opportunities for Head Start

 

The Head Start Bureau has published a notice that funds are available and applications are requested for 38 Early Head Start programs. Each grant is available for a specific geographic locale. More information on these grant opportunities is available on the Head Start Bureau's web site.

The deadline for receipt of applications is July 3, 2003.

PI-03-01 http://www.headstartinfo.org/publications/im03/pi03_01.htm FY 2003 Funding Guidance

 

Head Start and Early Head Start grantees can apply for two types of funding increases in FY 2003:

 
1. Ongoing funds for a cost-of-living increase (COLA), to improve staff salaries and to support the National Reporting System and early literacy initiatives.

 
2. One-time supplements to address health and safety problems and other special needs.
Grantees are to apply for the one-time supplements by June 2, 2003.
