ECO Center Releases Proposed Early Childhood Outcomes for Comment

Early Childhood Outcomes Center, January 4, 2004

The Early Childhood Outcomes Center (ECO Center) recently released their proposed outcomes for children and families involved with Part C and Part B preschool (619).

The Early Childhood Outcomes (ECO) Center is seeking reactions and feedback on a set of child and family outcomes for the Part C and Part B Preschool Programs. The ECO Center was funded to undertake a series of activities that ultimately will result in consistent and high-quality data on child and family outcomes.

The ECO Center will revise the outcomes based on the comments and submit these to the Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP). The

outcomes submitted will be the ECO Center's recommendation, not the outcomes on which the states will be asked to report. OSEP will decide and announce the final outcomes it will be using.

All comments must be received by January 21, 2005, to be considered for inclusion in ECO recommendations to OSEP.

To comment go to www.the-eco-center.org and click on What's New.
